One of the best ways to enhance your Sedona experience is to combine an archaeological adventure with a rugged off-road excursion. Pink Jeep Tours’ Ancient Ruin & Diamondback Gulch Combo Tour offers a thrilling 4×4 ride as well as an intriguing exploration of a 700-year-old Native American cliff dwelling.
Your Ancient Ruin & Diamondback Gulch Combo Tour begins in Sedona. Behind the wheel is your professional tour guide who is a trained 4×4 and driving expert. Your personal tour guide is also a Certified Interpretive Guide, trained to bring the landscape alive through historical facts, stories and a great sense of humor.
Start your Sedona adventure on the Diamondback Gulch trail. This rugged 4×4 adventure rolls through Sedona’s rough outback as you sit safely inside your pink Jeep Wrangler tour vehicle designed to handle the terrain. You might find some of the animals that call this habitat home along the trail including javelina, jackrabbits, mule deer, roadrunners and red tail hawks. All the while your tour guide will narrate your tour as you rock along the scenic landscape past sites including the Greasy Spoon and Huntley Tank. Even in the wild you can’t escape Sedona’s red rock beauty!
Phase two of your tour shifts you into Pink Jeep Tours’ Ancient Ruin Tour where there’s plenty of time to marvel at the ruins at Honanki Heritage Site. Here’s a fun fact: Honanki means “bear house” in the Hopi language. This 700-year-old cliff dwelling is managed by the U.S. Forest Service under the Red Rock Pass Program. You’ll find over 2,000 examples of rock art on the cliff walls, from pictographs to petroglyphs. Did you find the fire marks? A large fire burned down the rooms at the east end of the site. Later, these rooms were rebuilt by the same stones that burned. The Honanki Heritage Site offers numerous photo opportunities for the camera lover, but please do not touch this historical landmark.
Pink Jeep Tours’ 4-hour Ancient Ruin – Diamondback Gulch excursion will excite the off-road adventurer in you as well as pique the interest of your inner historian, prompting you to ponder an ancient culture that mysteriously disappeared hundreds of years before our time. This tour is perfect for the traveler that wants to explore a bit of everything Sedona has to offer!
*Please note: During the Ancient Ruin & Diamondback Gulch Combo Tour, you will explore the ancient ruins site by foot. Comfortable walking shoes are recommended for the ¾-mile (1.2km) walk.
The Diamond Gulch/Ancient Ruin tour was fabulous (better than a roller coaster ride)! Renee...what can I say she is a true gem! I can't wait to return to Sedona and experience another tour!

It was fun. My wife and I were fortunate to be alone on the 4 hour trip. It was great for comfort and Larry made you feel special great. He was very informative and took safety seriously which gave us a very relaxing drive. We would love to do again should we return. Would recommend to anyone. Also we ran into other pink keep tours and guides on the trip and they were all friendly and helpful.

This is a true taste of Sedona and the amazing countryside! To be out away from everything and enjoy the solitude and quiet was spiritual. You get a true feeling of what drew the Sinagua to this area 900 years ago.

Patti was the best tour guide we have ever had on any tour. She made it fun and exciting. She inspired us to learn about the depth of the beauty from the giant rock formations to the use of each plant and berry in the Sedona area. We had an amazing time!

Mike was a fabulous tour guide - polite, professional, interesting, knowledgeable on geology., geography, flora, history and the area in general. Mike clearly loves his job and is proud to "show off" Sedona. I'm really glad he hosted our tour. He is a great ambassador for Pink Jeep Tours.
